Monday - 2.25 mi barefoot run on the sidewalk (details here)
Tuesday - 6 mi aerobic run + fartlek at park (3.4 mi in VFF KSOs, rest in shoes)
Thursday - Mile time trial at the track! 6:01 time! Ran 5.5 mi total with warm-up and 3 x 800s before and 4 x 200s after.  Did workout in racing flats.
Saturday - 7 mi trail run in shoes
Sunday - 14.5 mi mountain bike ride
Picture is from my mountain bike ride.  Found this gopher snake and almost ran over a baby rattler!

Week of May 17:
Thursday - 5.8 mile run (1.5 barefoot on sidewalk + 4.3 in VFF KSOs on sidewalk and dirt path at park)
Only got one run in last week.  I thought my bronchitis was better then it came back so I took it really easy.  Finally feeling better this week.  3 weeks of being sick blows.
Picture is of a sweet note I received from the little girl next door.  She helped me do some gardening on Wednesday.  Found this little note and some cat treats for Craig on the doorstep Thursday.

Week of May 10:
Thursday - 6 mile track workout (1 mile barefoot on track/6 sets of intervals in shoes/2 sets of intervals in VFF KSOs/cooldown barefoot on grass)
Saturday - 10.3 mile trail run in shoes
I still took a lot of time off this week because of this stupid bronchitis/sinus infection I have going on.  If you want details on my workouts, check out my dailymile profile.
Picture is from my trail run.  A pretty thick fog had settled and it was neat to be in the hills above it.

Week of May 10:

  • Thursday - 6 mile track workout (1 mile barefoot on track/6 sets of intervals in shoes/2 sets of intervals in VFF KSOs/cooldown barefoot on grass)

 Monday - 3.4 miles barefoot run/walk on asphalt and some sidewalk (Ouch)
 Tuesday - 7.3 miles on trail (1 mile warm-up in VFFs, fartlek in shoes)
 Thursday - 5.5 mile interval training at park in shoes
Saturday - The Relay Day 1! 9.7 miles in shoes
Sunday - The Relay Day 2!  4.2 miles + 2.1 miles + 6 miles (all in shoes except last mile barefoot on asphalt)
Week of May 3:
Nothing - Took the whole week off.  Sick with bronchitis/sinus infection.  Not fun.
Picture of my dirty VFFs!  Finally wore them on a trail for the first time.

Week of April 26:

Week of April 19:

  • Monday - 5.5 miles in shoes on treadmill in hotel gym. Boring.
  • Thursday - 4.1 miles at track (0.75 mile warm-up barefoot and 8 x 400m repeats in shoes)
  • Sunday - 5k race! (time of 21:16)

This was a taper week in preparation for 5k.

Thursday - 5.5 mile run at track (0.75 mile  barefoot plus speed workout in shoes)
Friday - 3 mile run barefoot on sidewalk
Picture is from this weekend when I wasn’t running.  This was a  recovery week for me (I like to take one every 4 to 5 weeks).  Instead  of running, I finally got my garden planted - lettuce, tomatoes,  cilantro, carrots, pumpkins and cat grass for Craig.

Week of April 12:

  • Tuesday - 5.25 mile run at park (1 mile barefoot on grass plus interval workout in shoes)
  • Thursday - 5.5 mile run at track (0.75 mile barefoot plus speed workout in shoes)
  • Friday - 3 mile run barefoot on sidewalk

  • Tuesday - 7.5 mile run (1.75 mile barefoot on sidewalk, 5 mile tempo run in shoes at park plus cool down)
  • Wednesday - 12.5 mile mountain bike ride
  • Thursday - 2.5 mile run in VFFs on sidewalk
  • Saturday - Renegade Off-Road Triathlon (0.5 mile swim, 15 mile mountain bike, 3 mile trail run)

  • Tuesday - 6.4 mile run at park (0.85 mile in VFFs on dirt track, 0.75 mile barefoot on grass and fartlek workout in shoes)
  • Thursday - 6.3 mile run at track (1 mile in VFFs, 0.5 mile barefoot and interval training in shoes)
  • Friday - 14.5 mile mountain bike ride
  • Saturday - 10.1 mile trail run in shoes
